We came to our senses.

Chase is the PICKIEST eater in the WORLD.  I use to get so excited making fun recipes and meals for Chase- those days are long gone.  I feel limited.  Frustrated.  Tired.  Annoyed.  I come up with ideas now and then, get my hopes up, thinking I have come up with a new thing to add to his short, bland little list of likes.  Then he takes a bite and the despair sets in.  Darkness falls on dinner.  We tell him to eat anyways- he does.  We make it through dinner.  Then there are the nights I feed him fish sticks and carrots- those blissful nights, brought to us by our Grocer’s Freezer.

So, I wasn’t sure what to expect with this experiment.  I pulled out anything I cold find to taste or smell- sweet, salty, sour, or bitter.  We would talk about the foods before and after we tasted them.  I asked Chase, “do you think you’ll like this?’, which one of these do you think will be the sweetest?’, “does this look appetizing?”.  It was fun to throw in some surprises.

Chase did find a few things that he didn’t mind the flavor of.  After Chase decided that the flavor of Hoisin Sauce would not kill him, we were able to enjoy Asian Pork Tacos for dinner tonight.  He didn’t love them- but he ate it.  Yay!!

During the experiment, Chase insisted on taking notes.  He’s so studious!!
