Christmas

This Christmas we spent much of our time reading many versions of the Christmas Story. We watched movies, read books, listened to music (a lot of music). I had many fun arts and craft ideas pinned on Pinterest, but we never got around to it. I was pleasantly surprised how much Chase wanted to learn about Jesus and how the traditions we celebrate all go back to his birth. We talked about praying, goodwill, and faith. Chase loves the classic Christmas songs and prefers the songs that are actually about Jesus and the Christmas story. Everyday he requests to listen to David Archuletta’s Chrismas Album and ‘Mary Did You Know’ is one of his favorite songs (I love his tastes).

Sawyer loves Christmas Books!! We have read multiple stories everyday- some of them, over and over again. The Nutcracker, Little Critter’s The Night Before Christmas, and Bearenstein Bears: All about Giving have been his favorite selections. I ordered a new Sweet Smell of Christmas for him to enjoy this week- poor guy has to read a book with scratch-n-sniff stickers that have no sniff left. So, he will have his very own, fresh, non-scratched book to sniff and enjoy! I can’t wait to share it with him!

So, it wasn’t as tinselly and glittery as I normally plan, but it was meaningful and spiritual. I loved sharing this with Chase & Sawyer. Tonight we are camping out by the Tree, watching a movie, and having some cocoa. I know these are the best Christmas’ I will have!
