Chase spent this week struggling over a new concept in Math. Today he had this ah-ha moment- and it was AWESOME! His face lit up every time he figured out an equation. He worked so hard- he didn’t give up- he didn’t get frustrated. He just worked through it. We went over the same concept for 4 days. I wanted to bang my head on the table (I may have, I swear I blacked out at some point). We looked at these problems from every angle! Sometimes he would get it for a minute, then it was gone. Today, something just clicked. Not only could he find the answer, he was able to teach the process to me. Another reason I love this- sharing these moments with him. Just awesome!
This week in Science we are studying Plant Life. Chase as been waiting for this unit. We are planting our starters for our garden during these lessons, and he loves to grow things. We also did the sweet potato experiment, celery stick experiment, and germinated some seeds. Today Chase wrote in his journal about 5 things he has learned so far about plants, I am impressed with what he has retained.
And look who is jumping in on the learning fun!
