I am always pushing books on my kids that I loved as a child. I am usually pretty disappointed by their lack of enthusiasm as we peruse each delicate page. Occasionally though, they surprise me and we all cuddle up and enjoy one of my old faves, over and over again.
Chase has always loved books and story time- since he was an infant. Reading and talking and sharing with Chase has been the Hallmark Movie Channel event of my life. We have spent thousands of hours talking, cuddling, and giggling. It is pure bliss. It is how I imagine Heaven to be.
Sawyer (sigh)… Sawyer has eaten more books than he’s read. He has ripped apart almost every board book that Chase passed down to him (in mint condition). There have, however, been a few books that have peaked his interest: “Polar Bear, Polar Bear,” “Dora’s Birthday Surprise,” and now- This one! This wonderful, exciting tale of furry, lovable, old Grover. There is laughter and excitement on each page. It doesn’t matter how many times we read it, Sawyer is still as nervous as Grover to get to the end of this book.
