Today was an awesome day! The boys spent the afternoon playing, sharing, and learning. I know not all days will be this great- but so many of them are! Both boys listened, participated, and asked questions during stories or lessons. When they had their own quiet, playtime- they both chose their activities and were completely immersed the entire time.
The sensory bin was a hit, both boys played in it all afternoon. Even when their work day was done, they dug for treasures and played with the magnets for another hour. Sawyer kept going back and digging until it was time for bed.
After a bit of review in Language Arts today, I am not quite as nervous about Chase moving on to the second grade curriculum. This is the right decision. We can go at our pace and spend more time on lessons when he needs to. I believe, the first grade curriculum would put us right back to where we are now, it wouldn’t be challenging enough and he would be bored. As of right now, I am done worrying about this. Wait….. No…… Okay. Now I am done. The decision has been made. And….Exhale. Didn’t work.
